چکیده

We present a calculation of the complete O (α) electroweak radiative corrections to the Møller scattering process e−e− → e−e−, including hard bremsstrahlung contributions. We study the effects of these corrections on both the total cross section and polarization asymmetry measured in low energy fixed target experiments. Numerical results are presented for the experimental cuts relevant for E-158, a fixed target e−e− experiment being performed at SLAC; the effect of hard bremsstrahlung is to shift the measured polarization asymmetry by ≈ +4%. We briefly discuss the remaining theoretical uncertainty in the prediction for the low energy Møller scattering polarization asymmetry. ∗Work supported by the Department of Energy, Contract DE-AC03-76SF00515

A novel approach to multi-photon bremsstrahlung

Radiative processes lead to important corrections to (e, e′p) experiments. While radiative corrections can be calculated exactly in QED and to a good accuracy also including hadronic corrections, these corrections cannot be included into data analyses to arbitrary orders exactly. Nevertheless consideration of multi-photon bremsstrahlung above the low-energy cut-off is important for many (e, e′p...

Radiative Corrections to the Azimuthal Asymmetry in Transversely Polarized Møller Scattering∗

Experiment E158 at SLAC can measure an azimuthal asymmetry in single-spin, transversely polarized Møller scattering, e−↑e− → e−e−, which arises from a QED rescattering phase. We recompute the leading-order (one-loop) asymmetry, confirming previous results, and calculate the leading logarithmic QED corrections due to initial-state radiation from the beam and target electrons, and due to final-st...

The QED lowest-order radiative corrections to the two polarized identical fermion scattering

The explicit exact expressions of QED lowest-order radiative corrections to the two polarized identical fermion scattering are presented in covariant form. Polarization effects are treated in detail. The infrared divergence from the real photon emission is extracted by covariant approach. Some numerical results for Møller scattering are given. Bremsstrahlung in weak charged current polarized lepton - nucleon deep inelastic scattering

The processes of lepton-nucleon scattering, including ones with both polarized beams, at high energy provide relevant information about interaction and particles structure, allowing to analyze nucleon spin structure. As energy and experimental accuracy rise, necessity to improve Born cross sections and polarized asymmetries with higher order radiative corrections becomes substantial. In this re...

Virtual Corrections to Bremsstrahlung in High-Energy Collider Physics: LHC and ee Colliders

We describe radiative corrections to bremsstrahlung and their application to high energy collider physics, focusing on the applications to luminosity measurement, fermion pair production and radiative return. We review the status of one loop radiative corrections in BHLUMI and the KKMC, including cross checks with newer results developed independently for radiative return. We outline a YFS-expo...
